Locate block heater on 2001 7.3 ford diesel?

The block heater on a 2001 Ford 7.3L Power Stroke diesel is located on the driver's side (left side) of the engine block, near the front. It's usually a fairly substantial cord coming out of the block itself. You might need a flashlight to see it clearly, especially if it's tucked up against the engine. Look for a heavy-duty electrical cord plugged into the engine block. It often has a rubber boot or grommet around the cord where it enters the engine.
