Where is the water pump located on a 1987 Olds Calais V6?

On a 1987 Oldsmobile Calais with a V6 engine, the water pump is located at the front of the engine, driven by the serpentine belt. It's generally positioned low on the engine block, near the bottom of the timing cover (the cover over the timing chain or belt). You'll see it fairly easily once you've got a good look at the front of the engine, as it's a relatively large component with pulley attached.
