Does a 2005 f350 diesel come with block heater and where is it?

A 2005 Ford F-350 diesel likely came with a block heater, but it's not guaranteed. Whether or not it has one depends on the specific options the truck was ordered with and the region it was sold in (colder climates were more likely to have them as standard equipment).

If it does have one, it's typically located:

* In the engine block: This is the most common location. You'll likely find a cord coming out from near the bottom of the engine block, sometimes near the oil pan. The cord will have a plug that needs to be plugged into an external power source (an outlet).

* In the coolant hose: Less common, but possible. A heater element might be embedded within a coolant hose. This is more difficult to spot without removing the hose.

To find out if yours has one:

1. Check the owner's manual: This is the best place to start. It should specify if a block heater was included.

2. Visually inspect the engine: Look for a cord emerging from the engine block near the oil pan or in a coolant hose.

3. Check the undercarriage: Sometimes the cord is routed down towards the front bumper area, making it more visible from underneath the truck.

If you can't find a cord, it's possible the truck doesn't have a factory-installed block heater. In that case, you could always have one installed aftermarket.
