Where are the heads located on an engine?

The term "heads" in an engine refers to the cylinder heads. These are located on top of the engine block, one for each cylinder (or sometimes multiple cylinders per head, depending on the engine design). They enclose the top of the cylinders and contain components like valves, spark plugs (or glow plugs), and the camshaft (in some designs).
