What is the difference between a Mustang and GT?

The Mustang is the name of the car model itself, produced by Ford. The GT is a *trim level* or *package* within the Mustang lineup. Think of it like this: Mustang is the overall brand, and GT is a specific, higher-performance version of that brand.

A Mustang can come in various trim levels, such as EcoBoost, GT, Mach 1, Shelby GT500, etc., each with different features, engines, and performance capabilities. A GT Mustang will always be a Mustang, but not all Mustangs are GT Mustangs. The GT represents a more powerful engine, enhanced handling, and additional performance-oriented features compared to the base Mustang models.
