Where is the inspection plate for fuel pump on a 1997 ford expedition and can you change through it?

The 1997 Ford Expedition's fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. There isn't an external inspection plate specifically for the fuel pump. To access the fuel pump, you have to drop the fuel tank. This is not a job for the casual home mechanic; it requires specialized tools and safety precautions due to the flammable nature of gasoline.

You cannot change the fuel pump through any kind of access plate. The entire tank assembly needs to be lowered.
