To find it, you should:
1. Consult a repair manual: A Chilton's or Haynes repair manual specific to your year and engine will have diagrams showing the sensor's location. This is the most reliable method.
2. Look near the throttle body: The intake air temperature sensor is usually a small, temperature-sensitive resistor located within the intake system, frequently close to the throttle body. It's often a single-wire sensor.
3. Look for a small electrical connector: The sensor will have a small electrical connector plugged into it. Follow the wiring harness from the connector to locate the sensor itself.
4. Use a scan tool: A scan tool that can read live data may be able to show the sensor's location or at least give you an idea of which temperature sensor correlates with Intake Air Temperature.
Caution: Working on your vehicle's engine compartment can be dangerous. Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting any work. If you are not comfortable performing this task, it's best to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic.
