From a 2005 Dodge Durango**
Note: _Some model year 2005 Dodge Durangos may not have a dashboard DTC read-out; see your owner's manual for details._
1. Ensure your Dodge Durango is parked and the engine is off.
2. Locate the OBD-II port beneath the dashboard. If you can't find the port, check the owner's manual for its location.
3. Connect an OBD-II scan tool to the port.
4. Insert your vehicle's key and turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (but do not start the engine).
5. Wait for the scan tool to display any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the Durango's computer.
Note: _If the scan tool does not display any DTCs, your vehicle may not have any stored fault codes. However, this does not necessarily mean that there are no problems with the vehicle. Some problems may not cause the Check Engine Light to come on or trigger a DTC._
