1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the fuel tank drain plug. On a 2006 Pontiac G6, the drain plug is located on the underside of the fuel tank, near the rear of the vehicle.
4. Place a drain pan under the drain plug to catch the fuel.
5. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the drain plug.
6. Allow the fuel to drain completely into the drain pan.
7. Once the fuel has drained, reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely.
Note: Fuel is flammable, so be sure to take proper precautions when draining the fuel tank. Keep sparks, flames, and other sources of ignition away from the fuel. Also, work in a well-ventilated area.
