Replacement Fuel Filter Motorcraft part #FG-1122
Instructions:
Locate the fuel filter. For 2005-2010 Ford Mustang GT, the fuel filter is usually located under the car, behind the driver’s side rear tire.
Prepare the filter for replacement. Using the fuel filter wrench, loosen but do not remove the hose clamp at the inlet fuel line end of the fuel filter. Place a rag under the inlet side to catch any fuel spillage.
Remove the Inlet Hose. Pull the inlet line (hose) from the fuel filter assembly while keeping the rag underneath to catch any spilled fuel.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for the Outlet side.
Remove the fuel filter. Unscrew the fuel filter from the bracket by turning it counter-clockwise.
Install the new fuel filter. Screw on the new fuel filter onto the bracket until it is hand tight. Then tighten the fuel filter with the fuel filter wrench. Be careful not to over-tighten.
Reattach the fuel lines. Reattach the inlet line and the outlet line onto the fuel filter assembly by simply putting them back on. Make sure that the fuel lines click into place.
Tighten the fuel line clamps. Tighten the fuel line clamps, which hold the fuel lines to the fuel filter, with the fuel filter wrench. Be careful not to over-tighten. Be sure to place a rag underneath these connection points to catch any spilled fuel.
Make sure everything is secure. Double check all connections to make sure they are tight and will not leak.
