* Replacement digital instrument cluster
* Phillips head screwdriver
* Flathead screwdriver
* 10mm socket and wrench
* Wire cutters
* Electrical tape
* Soldering iron and solder
Instructions
1. Disconnect the battery. Before you begin working on the electrical system of your Blazer, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical shocks.
2. Remove the instrument cluster bezel. The instrument cluster bezel is the plastic trim piece that surrounds the instrument cluster. To remove it, use a flathead screwdriver to pry it up from the bottom and then pull it off.
3. Remove the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster is held in place by four Phillips head screws. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws and then carefully pull the cluster out of the dashboard.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors. There will be several electrical connectors plugged into the back of the instrument cluster. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry up the locking tabs on the connectors and then unplug them.
5. Remove the old instrument cluster. Once the electrical connectors are unplugged, you can carefully remove the old instrument cluster from the dash.
6. Install the new instrument cluster. Place the new instrument cluster into the dash and then reconnect the electrical connectors. Make sure that the connectors are seated properly and that the locking tabs are engaged.
7. Replace the instrument cluster bezel. Replace the instrument cluster bezel and secure it with the four Phillips head screws.
8. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
9. Test the new instrument cluster. Turn on the ignition and check to make sure that the new instrument cluster is working properly.
Tips
* If you are not comfortable working with electrical systems, you may want to have a qualified mechanic replace the instrument cluster for you.
* Be careful not to damage the electrical connectors when you disconnect them.
* Make sure that the locking tabs on the electrical connectors are engaged when you reconnect them.
