On a 97 Ford Explorer how do you unplug heater core?

1. Park your vehicle in a safe location and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down completely.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This will help prevent any electrical accidents from happening while you are working on the heater core.

3. Locate the heater core. The heater core is located behind the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle.

4. Remove the heater core cover. The heater core cover is usually held in place by a few screws or bolts.

5. Disconnect the heater core hoses. There are two heater core hoses that connect the heater core to the engine. Use a wrench to loosen the hose clamps and then pull the hoses off of the heater core.

6. Remove the heater core. The heater core is held in place by a few bolts or nuts. Use a wrench to remove the bolts or nuts and then lift the heater core out of the vehicle.

7. Inspect the heater core. Look for any damage to the heater core, such as leaks or cracks. If the heater core is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

8. Reinstall the heater core. If the heater core is not damaged, you can reinstall it by reversing the steps that you took to remove it.

9. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

10. Test the heater core. Turn on the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then, turn on the heater and check to make sure that it is blowing hot air.
