1. Safety first. Before you begin working, disconnect the battery. This will prevent any accidental sparks that could ignite the gasoline vapors.
2. Remove the rear seat. The rear seat is held in place by four bolts. Remove the bolts and lift the seat out of the car.
3. Remove the fuel tank. The fuel tank is held in place by four bolts. Remove the bolts and carefully lower the fuel tank out of the car.
4. Remove the old fuel pump. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. It is held in place by a retaining ring. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the retaining ring and then pull the fuel pump out of the tank.
5. Install the new fuel pump. Insert the new fuel pump into the fuel tank and secure it with the retaining ring.
6. Reinstall the fuel tank. Carefully lift the fuel tank back into place and secure it with the four bolts.
7. Reinstall the rear seat. Lift the rear seat back into place and secure it with the four bolts.
8. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the battery cable to the positive terminal on the battery.
With the fuel pump replaced, you should be good to go and get your CRX back on the road!
