1. Open the hood of your vehicle.
2. Locate the engine oil filler cap. It is usually marked with the words "Engine Oil" or "Oil Fill".
3. The oil dipstick is usually located near the oil filler cap. It is a long, thin stick with a handle on one end.
4. Pull the dipstick out of its tube and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Insert the dipstick back into the tube until it is fully seated.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the oil level is low, add oil through the oil filler cap.
8. Replace the oil filler cap and dipstick.
