The oil pipe that goes to the CV boot on a 1993 Honda Prelude is called the axle breather tube. Its function is to allow air to circulate in and out of the CV boot, equalising the pressure inside the boot with the atmospheric pressure. This helps prevent the boot from bursting. Additionally, the axle breather tube allows any moisture that accumulates inside the boot to drain out, preventing corrosion and other damage to the CV joint.
