2. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump by squeezing the spring-loaded release tabs on the fuel line connectors
3. Remove the electrical connector from the fuel pump
4. Remove the locking ring that holds the fuel pump in place (Use a special tool or a large flat-blade screwdriver to pry up and remove the locking ring)
5. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank
6. Check the fuel pump and filter for damage or wear and replace if necessary
