1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the right front wheel.
4. Remove the plastic splash shield from the bottom of the engine.
5. Locate the crankshaft position sensor on the front of the engine, near the oil filter.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
7. Use a 10mm socket to remove the two bolts that hold the sensor in place.
8. Remove the sensor from the engine.
To install the new sensor, reverse the removal procedure.
Here are some additional tips:
- Make sure that the new sensor is properly seated in the engine block before tightening the bolts.
- Apply a small amount of sealant to the threads of the bolts to prevent oil leaks.
- Reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor.
- Lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative battery cable.
