Resetting the control engine light after the issues have been resolved is essential. You may reset the check engine light by doing the following:
1. Turn off your Hummer H3 and take the keys out of the ignition.
2. Find the OBD-II port. Under the dashboard, near the driver's side door, is where it can usually be located.
3. Take a paper clip or thin metal rod and bend it to form a U-shape.
4. Insert one end of the U-shaped wire into pin 16 of the OBD-II port. This pin is often colored black.

7. Leave the wires inserted in pins 5 and 16 for around 10 seconds. Take out the wires after the check engine light has turned off.
8. Cycle the ignition on and off a few times to ensure the light has been turned off.
9. Connect your Hummer H3 to an OBD-II scanner to check for additional diagnostic trouble codes.
