Cranking of a diesel engine refers to the process of rotating the crankshaft manually or with the help of a starter motor to initiate the engine's combustion cycle. The starter motor provides the necessary torque (rotational force) to overcome this resistance and start the engine.

4. Initiating Fuel Injection:

As the crankshaft rotates during cranking, it drives various engine components, including the fuel injection system.
