For Toyota Avensis models produced before 2005 (1st and 2nd generation):
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, without starting the engine.
3. Press and hold the trip reset button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds.
4. Turn off the ignition switch and wait 10 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position again and start the engine.
6. The engine management light should be turned off.
For Toyota Avensis models produced after 2005 (3rd and 4th generation):
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Connect an OBD2 scanner to the OBD2 port of the vehicle (usually located under the steering wheel).
3. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, without starting the engine.
4. Follow the instructions on the OBD2 scanner to clear the engine management light.
5. Turn off the ignition switch and wait 10 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position again and start the engine.
7. The engine management light should be turned off.
Note: If the engine management light turns back on after resetting, there may be an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. It's recommended to have the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified mechanic if the engine management light persists.
