1. Power Off and Disconnect:
- Turn off the power to your air conditioner and disconnect it from the power supply. Safety first!
2. Prepare External Capacitor:
- Connect the three capacitors provided in the kit to each other, positive to positive and negative to negative.
3. Install Run Capacitor:
- Locate your air conditioner's run capacitor, which is usually near the compressor.
- Disconnect the power lines connected to the run capacitor.
- Connect one end of the capacitor from the kit to the 'C' or 'Run' terminal of the existing capacitor.
- Connect the other end to the other disconnected power line.
4. Install Start Capacitor:
- Connect one end of the remaining capacitor (start capacitor) from the kit to the 'H' or 'Hermetic' terminal of the existing capacitor.
- Connect the other end to the compressor terminal (usually marked with a 'C').
5. Connect Relay and Compressor:
- Connect one end of the provided relay to the 'C' or 'Run' terminal on the air conditioner.
- Connect the other end of the relay to the 'C' or 'Common' terminal on the compressor.
6. Power Up:
- Reconnect the air conditioner to its power source and turn on the power.
7. Check Wiring:
- Double-check all wiring connections to ensure everything is secure.
8. Testing:
- Turn on the air conditioner and observe the compressor starting. Listen for any abnormal noises or vibrations.
If the air conditioner starts smoothly and runs normally, the external hard start kit has been successfully installed.
