1. Park the vehicle in a safe and well-lit location, preferably on level ground.
2. Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood of the vehicle.
4. Locate the windshield wiper motor. It is usually situated at the base of the windshield, near the firewall.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors attached to the wiper motor. Grasp the connectors and gently pull them apart.
6. Remove the bolts or fasteners that hold the wiper motor in place. Use the appropriate wrench or screwdriver.
7. Take out the old wiper motor from its compartment.
8. Place the new wiper motor into the compartment. Make sure it aligns correctly with the bolts or fasteners.
9. Secure the new wiper motor by tightening the bolts or fasteners.
10. Reconnect the electrical connectors that you disconnected earlier. Ensure that they are properly plugged in.
11. Close the hood of the vehicle.
12. Start the engine and test the windshield wipers. Make sure they move smoothly and in the correct direction.
