How do you bleed petrol fuel system peugeot 306?

To properly bleed the petrol fuel system on a Peugeot 306, please follow the steps below:

Things You Will Need:

- Fuel line wrench or spanner

- Container to catch old fuel

- Replacement fuel filter (if needed)

- Petrol-resistant gloves

- Rags/ Wipes

Step 1: Safety Precautions:

1. Ensure the vehicle is parked on level ground and the handbrake is engaged.

2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

3. Wear petrol-resistant gloves and eye protection.

Step 2: Identify the Fuel Filter:

1. Locate the fuel filter in the vehicle's engine bay.

2. It's usually a cylindrical or rectangular component with two pipes connected to it.

Step 3: Remove the Fuel Filter Cover:

1. Identify the cover on the fuel filter housing.

2. Using a fuel line wrench or spanner, loosen the bolts or nuts holding the cover in place.

3. Remove the cover to expose the fuel filter element.

Step 4: Disconnect the Fuel Lines:

1. Disconnect the fuel lines by carefully pulling them off the fuel filter inlet and outlet ports.

2. Catch any fuel that spills into a container.

Step 5: Replace the Fuel Filter (Optional):

1. If replacing the fuel filter, remove the old filter element by pulling it straight out of the housing.

2. Insert the new fuel filter element, making sure it is properly seated in its place.

Step 6: Bleed the Fuel System:

1. Switch ON the ignition key for about 2-3 seconds WITHOUT cranking the engine. This will prime the fuel pump.

2. Reconnect the fuel lines to the inlet and outlet ports on the fuel filter.

3. Tighten the connections firmly with the fuel line wrench.

4. Repeat step 6 until no more air is seen in the fuel lines.

Step 7: Start the Engine:

1. Finally, insert the ignition key and start the engine.

2. Allow the engine to run for a few minutes.

NOTE: During this initial fuel system pressurization, you might hear a whirring or ticking noise from the fuel pump as it builds up pressure. This is normal.

You have successfully bled the petrol fuel system on your Peugeot 306.
