What would cause your Saturn to sputter and then stall while driving with a half tank gas or less run fine full tank?

1. Fuel Pump Issues

-Clogged fuel filter

-Defective fuel pump

2. Fuel Pressure Regulator

-Leakage or malfunctioning of fuel pressure regulator may result in incorrect fuel pressure that could cause sputtering and stalling of your Saturn.

3. Vapor Lock

-Common with partially filled gas tank in hot weather can cause fuel to vaporize and create air bubbles in fuel lines, leading to insufficient supply to the engine and causing stalling.

4. Faulty Fuel injector(s)

-Clogged or faulty injectors can disrupt the proper flow of fuel in to engine leading to sputtering and stalling at low fuel level when fuel pressure might not be enough to push the fuel past clogged injector.

5. Defective Oxygen Sensor

-O2 sensor provides essential data for proper air/fuel mixture if sensor is faulty the Engine Control Unit (ECU) might not be able to adjust the mixture correctly leading to the stalling.

6. Weak Ignition Components

-Worn-out spark plug or faulty ignition coil could cause inconsistent ignition spark, leading to stalling.

7. Faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor

-MAS sensor measures the amount of air flowing into the engine, if sensor is faulty it could give incorrect reading.

8. Air Intake Issues

-Restrictions or leak in the air intake system could cause your engine to run lean and lead to stalling

9. Catalytic Converter

-Clogged catalytic converter can cause restriction in the exhaust system leading to reduced power and potential stalling.

10. EVAP (Emission Control)

- Malfunction in the EVAP system, designed to control fuel vapors, could lead to the stalling issue.
