3. Locate the defective overload protector. It is usually a small, black or red device with two terminals.
4. Disconnect the wires from the overload protector and remove it from the compressor.
5. Install a new overload protector by connecting the wires to the appropriate terminals and securing it in place.
6. Replace the compressor cover and turn on the power supply.
7. Test the compressor to ensure the internal overload is functioning properly.
