Where is the crankshaft pully?

The crankshaft pulley is located at the front of the engine, connected to the crankshaft. It is usually made of metal or composite material, and it serves several functions:

- It drives the timing belt or chain, which in turn synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft(s).

- It provides a surface for the serpentine belt to wrap around, which drives various engine accessories such as the alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor, etc.

- It acts as a damper to reduce torsional vibrations generated by the engine.

The crankshaft pulley is typically attached to the crankshaft using a keyway, bolts, or a combination of both. It may also have a harmonic balancer integrated into it, which further helps in reducing vibrations.
