Tools Needed:
- Flat head or pry stick
- Phillips and small flat head screw drivers
- 3/8 ratchet and assorted deep well sockets
- Torx Bit Set (Depending on the Age of your Truck)
Instructions:
1\. Remove Door Pull:
- Open the door and Locate the door handle pull assembly at the top back side of the door. (There are no visible plastic clips).
- Use a pry stick to pry out the door pull assembly.
- Remove screws holding interior door latch handle assembly in place.
2\. Remove Screw Covers:
- Use the flat head or pry stick to pop the screw covers off.
- There will be two screw covers near the door opener lever.
- There will be one screw cover near the door handle.
- Remove the screw from the rear of the arm rest.
- Take your small screwdriver and pop out the plastic inserts of the 2 screws in the door arm rest.
3\. Remove the Window and Mirror Control Assembly:
- Slide the window and mirror control assembly toward you to disconnect it from the wiring.
- Remove the 2 screws on the back side of the switch bracket.
- The switch bracket should now come loose.
- Pry the switch bracket towards you to separate the switch bracket and control arm.
- Rotate the switch bracket up and slide it through the door panel (or remove the window switch buttons using a small flat head screwdriver to disengage the buttons from the switch panel).
4\. Disconnect Power Window Motor (For Trucks Equipped With Power Windows):
- Disconnect wiring that goes to the power window motor.
- Remove 4 nuts holding motor in place.
5\. Remove Door Panel:
- Gently separate the upper, outer edge of the door panel by the door latch from the door using the flat head or pry stick.
- Start separating the door panel, starting at the top corner of the door. Continue around to the bottom. Some of the clips may stay in the door or door panel. There are 15-18 clips total.
- Use the flat head to lift any metal clips that may stay in the door panel.
- The door panel will then come off.
- Unplug any light or speaker wiring that is connected to the door panel.
- Remove the speaker.
To Reinstall the Door Panel:
- Connect any light or speaker wiring.
- Attach speaker.
- Clip the door panel back into the metal door and make sure all the clips are secure.
- Reattach the window and mirror control assembly bracket to the door using the two screws.
- Connect the wiring to the power window motor.
- Install 4 nuts that hold motor in place.
- Slide the switch bracket into place and align the clips.
- Attach the 2 screws that hold the switch bracket to the door panel.
- Slide the window and mirror control assembly back into place until the clips align.
- Replace covers.
- Replace the armrest screws in the door armrest.
- Make sure all interior controls are fully functional.
