1. Prepare the piston ring compressor.
- Assemble the piston ring compressor following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Ensure that the compressor is the correct size for the piston rings you are installing.
2. Install the piston rings.
- Place the piston ring expander on the piston.
- Position the top piston ring in the expander.
- Use the piston ring compressor to compress the rings and insert them into the piston groove.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining piston rings.
3. Install the piston ring pusher.
- Place the piston ring pusher on top of the piston rings.
- Use the pusher to push the rings down into the piston grooves until they are seated properly.
4. Remove the piston ring compressor and pusher.
- Once the piston rings are installed, remove the piston ring compressor and pusher.
- Be careful not to damage the rings when removing the tools.
5. Double-check the piston rings.
- Before installing the piston into the cylinder, double-check that the piston rings are properly seated in the grooves.
- If the rings are not properly seated, they can damage the piston and cylinder walls.
