Why would car lights work but the engine wont start?

Possible causes:

- Dead battery: If the battery is completely discharged, it won't have enough power to crank the engine.

- Bad starter: The starter motor is responsible for turning the engine over. If it's faulty, it won't be able to engage the flywheel and start the engine.

- Faulty ignition switch: The ignition switch provides power to the starter motor. If it's faulty, it won't be able to complete the circuit and allow the starter motor to engage.

- Fuel system issues: If there's a problem with the fuel supply, the engine won't be able to get the fuel it needs to run. This could be caused by a clogged fuel filter, a faulty fuel pump, or a leak in the fuel line.

- Engine mechanical problems: If there's a mechanical problem with the engine, it won't be able to start. This could be caused by a blown head gasket, a broken timing belt, or a seized engine.
