1. Park your vehicle in a safe area, and turn off the engine. Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been running.
2. Open the hood of your Malibu Classic. You may need to use the hood release lever inside the vehicle to do this.
3. Locate the headlight assembly. It is usually located behind the front grille, and is secured by a few bolts.
4. Remove the bolts that secure the headlight assembly. You may need to use a wrench or screwdriver to do this.
5. Once the bolts are removed, carefully remove the headlight assembly from the vehicle. Be careful not to drop or damage the headlight assembly.
6. Locate the headlight bulb. It is usually held in place by a retaining clip or a spring.
7. Remove the retaining clip or spring, and carefully remove the old headlight bulb. Be careful not to touch the glass part of the new bulb, as this can cause it to overheat and fail prematurely.
8. Insert the new headlight bulb into the socket, and secure it with the retaining clip or spring.
9. Replace the headlight assembly, and secure it with the bolts that you removed earlier.
10. Close the hood of your Malibu Classic.
11. Test the new headlight bulb by turning on the headlights.
