Park the vehicle in a safe and stable area, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool down if necessary.
Disconnect the battery terminals by loosening the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal, to avoid any electrical accidents.
Locate the distributor cap on top of the engine, which is usually held in place by one or more screws.
Unscrew the screws and carefully remove the distributor cap to expose the distributor drive shaft.
Below the distributor cap, you should see the distributor drive gear.
Use a wrench or socket to loosen the distributor drive gear nut or bolt, which holds the drive shaft in place.
Once the nut or bolt is loosened, you can carefully pull the distributor drive shaft out of the engine block.

Once you have removed the distributor drive shaft, it is a good idea to inspect it for any wear or damage and replace it if necessary.
Reassemble the components in the reverse order of removal once the distributor drive shaft is replaced.
