1. Open the hood of your Mercedes E220.
2. Locate the plastic cover on the left side of the engine bay.
3. Remove the cover by unscrewing the two bolts that hold it in place.
4. The battery will be located beneath the cover.
For vehicles produced after 2002:
1. Open the trunk of your Mercedes E220.
2. Locate the panel on the left side of the trunk.
3. Remove the panel by unscrewing the two bolts that hold it in place.
4. The battery will be located beneath the panel.
