1. Locate the engine cover. The engine cover for the 2.5 L engine in the VW Jetta is on the top of the engine.
2. Remove the front engine cover bolts. For the front cover, there will be two bolts that hold it down near the grille, and two that are just behind. Unfasten these four 10mm bolts and set aside.
3. Remove the rear engine cover bolts. For the rear cover, there will be two bolts in the middle by the spark plugs, and two on either side of the rear of the engine cover. Unfasten these four 10mm bolts and set aside.
4. Lift up the engine cover and remove it from the vehicle. Once all of the bolts have been removed, lift the front of the engine cover up over the lip of the engine bay and set aside.
Here are some additional tips for removing the 2.5 L engine cover on a VW Jetta:
- Be careful not to drop any of the bolts into the engine bay.
- If you have trouble removing any of the bolts, use a penetrating oil to loosen them up.
- Once the engine cover has been removed, take a moment to inspect it for damage. If there is any damage, replace the engine cover before driving the vehicle.
