- Turn the engine off and allow it to cool down.
- Locate the sump plug on the bottom of the oil pan. It's usually a 17mm bolt head. To access the plug, you may need to remove the underbody shield or skid plate.
- Once you have located the sump plug, place an oil drain pan under it.
- Use a 17mm wrench to loosen and remove the sump plug. Be careful not to drop the sump plug into the oil pan.
- Allow the oil to completely drain out of the oil pan.
- Once the oil has completely drained, reinstall the sump plug and tighten it securely with the 17mm wrench.
- Refill the engine with the correct amount of new oil. Refer to your owner's manual for the oil capacity.
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the sump plug.
