Anti-Freeze: Extended Life Coolant (ELC), which is a low-silicate, long-life coolant that is compatible with all metals used in the Jaguar XJS coolant system.
Brand: Jaguar Genuine (preferred), Prestone, Valvoline, Castrol, or any other reputable brand.
Mixing Coolants: Do not mix different brands or types of coolant unless you are certain they are compatible. Mixing incompatible coolants can cause problems, such as gelling, corrosion, or reduced cooling efficiency.
Flushing the Coolant: When changing the coolant, it is recommended to flush the cooling system to remove any accumulated sediment, rust, or debris. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for flushing the coolant system.
Regular Maintenance: Regularly check the coolant level in the expansion tank and top it off as necessary. The coolant should be changed at the intervals recommended by Jaguar or your preferred coolant brand.
