Note: The following instructions apply to the 3.2 Litre engine.
In order to access the oil filter on the 2002 S80, you must remove the undercarriage shield at the front of the car. To remove the shield:
1. Jack the car up and support it on jack stands.
2. Locate the two bolts holding the shield in place. These are situated at the rear of the shield, near the front cross member.
2. Remove the two bolts and lower the shield.
3. Locate the oil filter. On the 3.2 Litre engine, it is located on the back of the engine block.
4. Remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
5. Install the new oil filter by hand until it is snug.
6. Do not over-tighten the oil filter.
7. Re-install the undercarriage shield.
