Tools Needed:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
- 5/16 inch socket wrench
Step 1: Remove Door Panel
1. Open the door and remove the two Phillips-head screws located at the bottom of the door panel.
2. Carefully pry up the door panel with the flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool. Start from the bottom of the panel and work your way up to release the clips that hold it in place.
3. Lift the door panel upwards to disengage it from the window sill, and then pull it towards you to remove it completely.
Step 2: Disconnect Electrical Connector
1. Locate the interior door switch. It is usually a small button located on the inside of the door handle.
2. Press the release tab on the electrical connector and disconnect it from the switch.
Step 3: Remove the Door Switch
1. Remove the two Phillips-head screws that secure the door switch in place.
2. Pull the door switch out of the door handle and remove it completely.
Step 4: Install the New Door Switch
1. Align the new door switch with the mounting holes and insert the two Phillips-head screws. Tighten the screws securely.
2. Reconnect the electrical connector to the door switch.
Step 5: Reinstall Door Panel
1. Carefully align the door panel with the window sill and insert the clips into the corresponding slots.
2. Press down on the door panel to engage all the clips securely.
3. Reinstall the two Phillips-head screws at the bottom of the door panel.
Step 6: Test the Door Switch
1. Close and open the door to ensure that the door switch is functioning properly.
2. Test the door lock and unlock buttons to make sure they work correctly.
