1. Locate the oil drain plug. This is a 17mm bolt located on the bottom of the oil pan.
2. Place an oil drain pan under the drain plug.
3. Loosen the drain plug and allow the oil to drain.
4. Once the oil has drained, replace the drain plug.
5. Locate the oil filter. This is a cylindrical-shaped object located near the oil drain plug.
6. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter.
7. Remove the oil filter and discard it.
8. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
9. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter housing.
10. Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug.
11. Do not overtighten the oil filter.
12. Add new oil to the engine. The oil fill cap is located on the top of the engine.
13. Check the oil level with the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
