An F-16 Fighting Falcon can carry up to 7,850 pounds (3,561 kilograms) of fuel internally, distributed among three fuel tanks: two in the wings and one in the fuselage. In addition, the F-16 can carry up to three external fuel tanks, each of which can hold up to 300 gallons (1,136 liters) of fuel, for a total external fuel capacity of 900 gallons (3,408 liters). With all three external fuel tanks, the F-16 can carry a total of 10,650 pounds (4,831 kilograms) of fuel, giving it a range of over 2,500 miles (4,000 kilometers).
