Tools Needed:
• 3/4-inch wrench or socket
• Oil drain pan
• Funnel
1. Warm up the engine: Warm up the motorcycle engine for a few minutes so the oil becomes less viscous and easier to drain.
2. Locate the oil drain plug: The oil drain plug is usually located on the bottom of the engine. Look for a bolt or plug that is larger than the others and is angled downward.
3. Place the oil drain pan underneath. Position an oil drain pan directly underneath the oil drain plug to catch the oil as it drains.
4. Loosen the oil drain plug: Use the wrench or socket to loosen and remove the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the plug into the oil drain pan.
5. Allow the oil to drain: Let all of the old oil drain out into the drain pan. This may take a few minutes.
6. Replace the oil drain plug: Once all the oil has drained out, reinstall the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
7. Add new oil: Use a funnel to add new oil to the engine. Refer to your Harley Davidson Electra Glide owner's manual for the recommended oil type and quantity.
8. Check the oil level: Use the dipstick to check the oil level and ensure it is within the recommended range.
