Changing Oil in Yamaha Royal Star Tour Delux

NOTE:

- Be sure that the motorcycle is parked on level ground.

- Be careful not to burn yourself on hot engine oil.

- Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.

- Make sure the engine has warmed up to operating temperature before changing the oil.

- This will allow the oil to flow out more easily.

Materials:

- New oil filter

- New oil

- Oil drain pan

- Funnel

- Wrench

- Rags

- Safety glasses

Instructions:

1. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.

2. Remove the oil drain plug with the wrench.

3. Allow the old oil to drain out completely.

4. Replace the oil drain plug.

5. Locate the oil filter. It is usually near the bottom of the engine.

6. Remove the oil filter with the wrench.

7. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

8. Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug.

9. Add new oil to the engine using the funnel.

10. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.

11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

12. Check the oil level again and add more oil if necessary.

13. Make sure there are no leaks.

14. Dispose of the old oil and filter properly.

Tips:

- If you do not have an oil drain pan, you can use a large plastic bucket.

- To remove the oil filter, you can use a filter wrench or a strap wrench.

- If you are unable to remove the oil filter, you can take your motorcycle to a mechanic.
