How do you drain the engine oil of a 1985 harley Davidson electra glide classic?

To drain the engine oil of a 1985 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic, follow these steps:

1. Gather the necessary tools and materials, including:

- A new oil filter (Harley-Davidson part number 63731-85A)

- A new oil drain gasket (Harley-Davidson part number 25310-84A)

- A 3/4-inch wrench

- A funnel

- An oil drain pan

- Safety glasses

2. Prepare the motorcycle by:

- Turning off the engine and allowing it to cool down

- Disconnecting the negative battery cable

- Placing the motorcycle on a center stand or a lift

- Removing the oil tank cover

3. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the motorcycle's engine. The oil drain plug is usually located near the front of the engine, on the left side.

4. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.

5. Use the 3/4-inch wrench to loosen the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the oil drain plug into the oil drain pan.

6. Allow the old oil to drain completely from the engine. This may take several minutes.

7. Once the old oil has drained completely, replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.

8. Remove the old oil filter by turning it counterclockwise. Be careful not to spill any oil.

9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

10. Screw the new oil filter onto the engine by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter.

11. Add new oil to the motorcycle's oil tank using the funnel. The Electra Glide Classic takes approximately 3.5 quarts of oil.

12. Check the oil level by using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.

13. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

14. Replace the oil tank cover.

15. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

16. Check for any leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leak stops.
