* A timing light
* A 10mm socket wrench
* A screwdriver
1. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2. Use the 10mm socket wrench to remove the two screws that hold the stator cover in place.
3. Remove the stator cover.
4. Locate the timing mark on the flywheel. The timing mark is a small notch or line on the edge of the flywheel.
5. Locate the timing mark on the stator. The timing mark on the stator is a small arrow or line.
6. Use the screwdriver to adjust the position of the stator so that the timing mark on the flywheel aligns with the timing mark on the stator.
7. Tighten the two screws that hold the stator cover in place.
8. Reattach the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
Now the timing on your Yamaha 1985 YFM 200 should be set correctly.
