Tools Needed:
- New oil filter
- Oil pan
- Funnel
- Wrench
- Rags
1. Run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil. This will help the oil to drain more easily.
2. Park the Mule on a level surface. Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
3. Locate the oil filter housing. It is located on the front of the engine, just below the oil filler cap.
4. Place the oil pan underneath the oil filter housing. Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the draining oil.
5. Loosen the oil filter using a wrench. Turn the filter counterclockwise until it comes loose. Be careful not to drop the filter into the oil pan.
6. Remove the old oil filter and discard it.
7. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This will help to create a seal and prevent leaks.
8. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug. Do not over-tighten the filter, as this can damage the gasket.
9. Add new oil to the engine. Use the funnel to add the specified amount of oil to the engine. The amount of oil required will vary depending on the model of the Mule.
10. Check the oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new oil throughout the engine.
12. Check for leaks. Look for any leaks around the oil filter housing or the oil pan. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil filter or the oil pan drain plug until the leak stops.
