1) Turn the ignition of your vehicle to the “On” position but do not start the engine.
2) Press and hold down the accelerator pedal for about five seconds.
3) Turn the ignition off and wait for ten seconds.
4) Start the engine and check if the check engine light is still on. If it is, repeat the steps.
