1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need:
* New oil filter (Yamaha part number 5GH-13440-00-00)
* Oil drain pan
* Funnel
* Wrench
* Rags

2. Prepare the motorcycle. Park the motorcycle on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake.
3. Locate the oil filter. The oil filter is located on the right side of the engine, just below the exhaust header. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with a black cap.
4. Remove the oil filter cap. Use the wrench to loosen the oil filter cap. Be careful not to spill any oil.
5. Remove the old oil filter. Once the cap is removed, you can remove the old oil filter by hand. Be careful not to let any oil drip into the engine.

13. Dispose of the old oil and filter. Dispose of the old oil and filter in accordance with local regulations.
