2. Remove the side covers. The side covers are held in place by several screws. Remove all of the screws and carefully pry the side covers off.
3. Remove the front and rear fenders. The front fender is held in place by two bolts at the bottom and two screws at the top. The rear fender is held in place by two bolts at the bottom and one screw at the top. Remove all of the bolts and screws and carefully pry the fenders off.
4. Remove the air filter cover. The air filter cover is located on the left side of the engine. It is held in place by two screws. Remove the screws and lift off the cover.
5. Remove the spark plug wire. The spark plug wire is located on the right side of the engine. It is held in place by a rubber boot. Pull the rubber boot off to remove the wire.
6. Disconnect the fuel line. The fuel line is located on the right side of the engine. It is held in place by a hose clamp. Loosen the hose clamp and slide it off the fuel line.
7. Remove the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe is located on the left side of the engine. It is held in place by two nuts. Remove the nuts and carefully pry the exhaust pipe off.
8. Remove the engine cover. The engine cover is located on the right side of the engine. It is held in place by several screws. Remove all of the screws and carefully pry the engine cover off.
With all of the plastic removed, you will have full access to the engine.
