Make sure the engine is off and cool down completely.
Open the hood.
Locate the engine cover towards the front of the engine bay. It will be usually made of plastic and covers up the majority of the engine components.
There will be two plastic rivets holding the engine cover in place. To release them, gently pry the center of the rivets using a flat-head screwdriver.
Once the rivets are released, you can carefully lift the engine cover off by grabbing the edges and pulling it upwards.
Depending on your specific model and engine type, there may be additional attachments or hoses connected to the underside of the engine cover. If so, disconnect these before removing the engine cover.
Now you have successfully removed the engine cover and have full access to the engine compartment of your Volkswagen Rabbit.
