* New accelerator cable (VW part number 111-721-501)
* 13mm wrench
* 10mm wrench
* Phillips-head screwdriver
* Flat-head screwdriver

Instructions
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This will prevent the engine from accidentally starting while you are working.
2. Remove the air cleaner from the engine.
3. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever on the carburetor.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
5. Remove the two 13mm nuts that hold the accelerator cable bracket to the firewall.
6. Remove the accelerator cable from the vehicle.
7. Remove the two 10mm bolts that hold the accelerator cable bracket to the firewall.
8. Place the new accelerator cable in position.
9. Reattach the accelerator cable bracket to the firewall using the two 10mm bolts.
10. Reattach the accelerator cable to the throttle lever on the carburetor.
11. Reattach the accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal.
12. Reinstall the air cleaner.
13. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
14. Test the accelerator cable to ensure it is properly functioning.
Tips:
* Be careful not to damage the accelerator cable when you are removing it.
* If the new accelerator cable is longer or shorter than the original, you may need to adjust it to fit properly.
* If the accelerator cable is not properly adjusted, it could cause the engine to run too fast or too slow.
