1. Pull up the gear knob grip as far as possible. Underneath you will find a retaining ring.
2. Using needle nose pliers, remove the retaining ring by using the small gaps in the ring.
3. Carefully remove the grip by pulling it upwards.
4. You will then see a small circlip which needs to be removed with a small screwdriver or another appropriate tool.
5. After removing the circlip you can remove the gear knob by pulling it upwards firmly.
